Protect data. Build confidence.
Behind every business application is data people depend on to do their work. Orders, accounts and customer records need to be available when they are needed. For software vendors and resellers, protecting that data is part of protecting the customer relationship.
When businesses choose software, they are trusting it with more than records. They are trusting it with orders, accounts, customer relationships and the information their people need to work every day. Protecting that information is an important part of the service surrounding the application.
For independent software vendors and resellers, this responsibility continues long after installation. Customers need dependable backup routines, practical recovery options and clear answers about how their data is being protected. NetLeverage brings these capabilities together to help partners look after their customers with less manual administration and greater visibility.
Protection that reflects how each business works
Customer environments change. New databases appear, applications grow and different workloads develop different protection needs. Keeping track of these changes manually takes time and creates opportunities for something to be overlooked.
Database discovery helps teams identify what needs protection, while individual backup schedules allow each database to follow a routine suited to its purpose. A frequently updated operational database can have a different schedule from a less active reporting database.
For software vendors and resellers managing multiple customers, the benefit is a more consistent approach to protection without treating every database as though it has the same requirements. For customers, it means backup arrangements can reflect the way their business actually operates.
Confidence supported by verification
Knowing that a backup job finished is useful. Knowing that the resulting backup has been checked provides a stronger foundation for recovery planning.
Backup verification adds evidence to the protection process, helping teams identify problems before a customer urgently needs their data. It also gives partners a more meaningful answer to the question, “Are our backups being checked?”
The business value is greater confidence in the recovery plan and less reliance on assumptions. Verification results should be understood alongside what was tested, rather than treated as a guarantee against every possible recovery problem.
Recovery options when time matters
A request to recover data does not always mean replacing the live database. A customer may need an earlier record examined, a problem investigated or a previous version of the data made available to their software support team.
Bringing a recovered database back beside the live one gives the team a separate copy to inspect before deciding what to change. It creates room for investigation and informed decisions without immediately overwriting the production database.
Where recovery can be completed in minutes, support teams can begin that work sooner. Actual recovery time depends on the database size and environment. The practical benefit is a shorter wait for access to the information needed to resolve the issue.
Protection beyond a single location
Backup copies become more useful when they can be held where the business needs them. Every backup is copied to NetLeverage backup storage, with delivery supported to destinations including S3 storage, the customer’s local network and SFTP storage. Live replication is coming and is not yet available.
These options allow partners and customers to arrange multiple copies across their chosen destinations, rather than relying on one storage location. A customer can retain a copy within their own environment while also benefiting from offsite protection.
Managing these arrangements through the backup and delivery workflow reduces the need to coordinate separate manual transfers. For resellers, this supports a repeatable service across customers. For software vendors, it provides practical ways to make authorised backup data available for maintenance and support. For customers, it offers greater choice over where copies of their business data are kept.
Visibility that makes the service accountable
Protection should be easy to explain as well as operate. With backup runs represented on the calendar and recorded in logs, partners can connect scheduled activity with execution records. The weekly SLA report is being added and is not yet available.
This makes it easier to review what ran, investigate exceptions and discuss service delivery using evidence. Customers gain a clearer view of the work being performed on their behalf, while support teams spend less time piecing together separate updates.
Together, database discovery, individual schedules, verification and recovery form a practical service around the business application. Software vendors gain better tools for looking after customer environments. Resellers gain a service they can manage consistently and explain clearly. Customers gain visibility, recovery choices and greater control over the protection of the data their business depends on.
